WASHINGTON, D.C.\u2014Thousands of Realtors<\/a>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0nationwide will gather May 6-11 in Washington, D.C. for the\u00a02023 Realtors\u00ae Legislative Meetings, NAR\u2019s annual gathering to discuss critical policy needs with members of Congress, policymakers, and industry leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201cHome Front: Protecting Rights. Expanding Access. Building Prosperity\u201d is the theme for this year\u2019s in-person policy meetings held by the nation\u2019s largest trade association. More than\u00a0<\/a>9,000 Realtors<\/a>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0are expected in the nation\u2019s capital for the week\u2019s events, including the inaugural Realtor\u00ae\u00a0<\/sup>National Block Party on May 9. Thousands of Realtors\u00ae<\/sup>, members of Congress, congressional staff, and industry friends and family will gather for a full takeover of the park with games, refreshments, and live music to celebrate NAR\u2019s advocacy efforts.<\/p>\n

\u201cRealtors\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0are ready to get to work and collaborate with industry leaders and policymakers this week to solve our nation\u2019s biggest housing challenges,\u201d said NAR President Kenny Parcell. \u201cWe will come together to promote access to homeownership, increase the inventory of safe and affordable housing, and advance fair housing for all. Our commitment through these efforts is to ensure every policy change helps position real estate to continue to lead in America\u2019s economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doug Holtz-Eakin, Former Director of the Congressional Budget Office, and Dana Peterson, Chief Economist of The Conference Board<\/strong>, will examine the current economic outlook and share their perspectives on what\u2019s coming next in banking policy and what it means for the future of homeownership\u00a0 at the\u00a0Federal Legislative & Political Forum on Sunday, May 7th.<\/p>\n

NAR President Kenny Parcell and the 2023 Leadership Team\u00a0<\/strong>will share how the association is serving members and provide a game plan for the week ahead at the\u00a0Leadership Scoop on Sunday, May 7th.<\/p>\n

Chief Advocacy Officer Shannon McGahn and the NAR Advocacy Team\u00a0<\/strong>will discuss the key priorities NAR is working on with the 118th Congress, the Administration, and at the state and local levels at the\u00a0Advocacy Scoop on Sunday, May 7th<\/p>\n

Award-winning investigative reporter, long-time\u00a060 Minutes<\/em>\u00a0correspondent, and news anchor Scott Pelley\u00a0<\/strong>will share his unique insights and behind-the-scenes looks at the people and issues that shape our lives at the\u00a0General Session on Monday, May 8.<\/p>\n

Federal Housing Administration (FHA) Commissioner Julia Gordon\u00a0<\/strong>will provide key updates on matters occurring at FHA, including the recent reduction in mortgage insurance premiums, during the\u00a0Regulatory Issues Forum on Monday, May 8th. The Forum will also feature a discussion on the role of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in real estate.<\/p>\n
